Children in the Wilderness
This project is run in Malawi by Central African Wilderness Safaris.
Children in the Wilderness Malawi (CITW Malawi) is a non-profit organization that promotes and facilitates sustainable conservation through the education and leadership development of rural children in Malawi.
CITW focuses on grooming the next generation of environmental decision-makers and leaders and the future custodians of Malawi’s pristine areas of wilderness. Since 2003, CITW Malawi has hosted over 2,200 children through annual camps and has educated a total of 1,100 Eco- Club members. Since 2006, the organization has also provided scholarships to over 850 children for their secondary education, and also, since 2010, the team helped sponsor 150 individuals with their tertiary education.
The programme strives to equip children with the knowledge and skills needed to care for their natural heritage by increasing their awareness and exposure to key issues of wildlife and environmental conservation. CITW Malawi also provides educational scholarships and career and vocational training opportunities for its members.
If you would like to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life, then we welcome you to support the CITW scholarship programme or annual camps. Your donation will enable CITW youth who need financial support, to participate in life-changing educational experiences, complete their secondary school education and even go on to university.
