Butterfly Space

Butterfly Space is a non-profit community based lodge located on the shores of Nkhata bay in Northern Malawi, offering bespoke and eco-friendly chalets to both their guests and volunteers. Accommodation is available to suit all budgets, from en-suite private chalets made from local materials, overlooking the crystal clear waters, two dormitory’s, and a spacious campsite nestled amongst permaculture gardens on the shore, naturally shaded by fruit trees. With some of the best chefs in Nkhata Bay, Butterfly Space proudly offers an extensive international and local menu to both guests and day visitors, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at very reasonable prices. The bar sits over the water, where you can relax in a hammock, play pool, or hide away on a private beach area to enjoy a cocktail, wine or beer. They serve a range of homemade juices and smoothies fresh from the kitchen, and offer pizza on weekends, baked in their clay oven.

On site, there is a lively youth club, information and resource centre, recording studio, media room and gym, all of which are open to the community free of charge.
