Blue Zebra Island Lodge

Located in the Central Region of Malawi and just a 2 hour journey from Lilongwe, The Blue Zebra Island Lodge is situated in the Lake Malawi National Park on Nankoma Island, which forms part of the Marelli Island Archipelago, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site (whc.unesco.org). The three islands are home to a vast array of fresh water fish, including some of the most rare and colourful in the world. The islands support diverse flora and fauna and are a bird watchers paradise.

Blue Zebra Island Lodge offers 9 exclusive tented en-suite chalets each overlooking the lake with some of the chalets boasting private lake access from where one can discover the dazzling array of fish in crystal clear waters. The chalets are set in an unspoiled environment and our guests are surrounded by nature and luxury. 5 Safari Tents are also available.

The lodge caters for our guest’s needs on a full board basis, offering a choice of meals with every taste and personal need in mind. Food is fresh, seasonal and of an international standard with staff more than happy to cater for any special dietary needs. The Fig Tree Bar offers a large selection of drinks and cocktails including some Malawian specialities. The lodge also boasts a lake view conference facility and a private entertaining area for business events. Tucked in and around the resort are several comfortable and secluded lounges in which one can relax and admire Lake Malawi’s glorious views.

Guests are free to chill at the infinity pool, kayak around the islands or enjoy a game of volleyball as part of the full board package. The lodge also offers free use of snorkelling equipment to view the unique colourful fish that inhabit every inch of the coastline. The more adventurous can take advantage of other water sports including wakeboarding, skiing and SCUBA diving. The water sports centre is PADI certified and can cater for novice and experienced divers with dive locations located all around the island to suit every level of experience. The dive center is involved with a number of conservation initiatives to protect the island’s Cichlids.

Nature lovers can take the time to explore the island’s birdlife either by boat or by foot with its nature trails leading to the top of the island.

Blue Zebra offers a truly unforgettable experience.
