Land and Lake Safaris, one of Malawi’s longstanding tour operators offering some of the best experiences in the country, have released their latest newsletter with some inspiration to convince you to make your way to the Warm Heart of Africa!
Land & Lake Safaris welcomed the University of Santa Cruz from California for two weeks in Cape Maclear. 18 Students under the expert guidance of Dr. Giacomo Bernardi studied cichlids and the fish taxonomy of species found within the Great Rift Valley. Daily dives, boating expeditions and a quick stop-in at Liwonde National Park completed their month-long African study program.
Dzalanyama Forest Lodge, the little eco-retreat nestled in the Miombo Woodland on the border between Malawi and Mozambique has been upgraded! Its ornithological draw is what makes this place so special. To celebrate that, the chalets have had a fresh new look – a more modern and open-planned design from Operations manager Ollie, using sustainable and longer lasting material, and is now finished and open.
The Campsite has been prepped and ready to go too. The space is equipped with an open-air kitchen, running water, braai area, seating and newly designed ablutions overlooking the Mataka stream too.
Land & Lake Safaris have welcomed new members of staff to the lodge, opened a simple cafe menu and even a shop that provides some essentials to campers and day visitors!
