RSC Introduce New Itinerary on International Development Posted on: Friday, August 07, 2015

One of the last Itineraries launched by Responsible Safari Comapny this year is the Future Earth and Development Course. This new course offers an intense overview of challenges faced in developing countries seeking to transform towards sustainability.

Participants will learn from and work with agents of change who are developing Malawi from one of the poorest countries in the world to a model economy and a society of sustainable development.  Students  will  learn  in  a  culturally  sensitive,  experiential  environment  and  take  part  in  participatory, hands-on workshops on issues ranging from environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture, to rural healthcare programmes seeking to treat and combat HIV. They will conduct research on a chosen project to be submitted to Future Earth and Malawi Government representatives. This  is  a  fantastic  opportunity  to  travel  and  learn  responsibly,  develop  skills  such  as  communication, leadership,  adaptability,  and  culturally  sensitive  learning,  all  of  which  can  be  made  transferable  to  a wide  variety  of  future  careers  (and  at  the  same  time  explore  the  stunning  beauty  and  warm-hearted people of Malawi).

Run by a British couple The Responsible Safari Company is based in Blantyre, Malawi, and specialises in responsible tourism across Malawi and Zambia.

They aim to offer travellers a unique experience whilst ensuring the benefits of tourism are given back to local people. They support a wide range of development initiatives across Malawi and are therefore able to offer their clients a chance to get more out of their safari to Africa. People travelling with them will have the opportunity to truly connect with the local people and learn about some of the issues facing developing countries today.
