The four-star Mount Soche has been the preferred hotel for Heads of State visiting Malawi, most likely because of the excellent service, upmarket standards, keen attention to detail and luxurious furnishings.
Centrally located in Malawi’s commercial capital, Mount Soche is nestled within wooded grounds which include an attractive tropical garden and swimming pool with wonderful views of the Nyambadwe and Soche Mountains.
Accommodation is in 130 en suite rooms which include 1 Presidential Suite, 8 Executive Suites, 4 Suites, 1 Studio Suite, 24 Executive Deluxe rooms and 92 Deluxe rooms.
The bedrooms, which were recently refurbished in warm neutrals, browns and golds, are comfortably furnished and well equipped with air-conditioning as well as coffee-making facilities.
They possess all the usual services of an international-class hotel: 24-hour room service, laundry and dry cleaning, mini-bars and safes in the rooms.
The hotel has an executive reception on 4th floor which provides VIP check in and check-out, free internet service and a private dining area for continental breakfast and snacks.
On the ground floor is the upmarket Picasso’s Restaurant, serving a big hearty breakfast as well as excellent local and international cuisine. The Pablo’s Executive lounge with fine Malawian ambience is an ideal spot for a casual drink or private meeting. Enjoy expertly mixed cocktails or a cappuccino within the fine confines of Pablos. The ground floor also houses the Casino, the Sportsman’s Bar with live music and a poolside bar.
Conference facilities can cater for up to 350 delegates, with rooms of varying sizes.
The Mount Soche makes an excellent base for the business visitor and a very convenient ‘home’ for the tourist wanting to explore southern Malawi. Two national parks/ game reserves; Lengwe and the newly reopened Majete are a short drive away and tours of the historic town of Blantyre and of Zomba Plateau are arranged.
