Game Haven is a 520 acre, recently established, fully fenced game sanctuary. Game Haven Lodge is 9 miles/14 km from Blantyre yet provides all the prerequisites of holiday and business travellers in a beautiful, peaceful, quiet and secure environment. There are 22 miles/35 km of roads and many attractive walks particularly along the stream dissecting the property. The trees and flora are like a rainforest and birdlife is abundant.

The entire complex, cottages and rooms are built with brick and clad in local rustic rock. Off the restaurant is an 18 metre pool set into a rock formation. The animals currently at Game Haven are sable, waterbuck, zebra, impala, nyala, wildebeest, duiker, cerval cats, eland, roan, giraffe and kudu. Bird life is prolific as are the wild flowers and shrubs.

The luxurious restaurant complex has a beautiful view and seating for up to 120 guests. Cuisine is of an exceptional international standard. There is also a comfortable private lounge and cosy Victorian style bar with fireplaces.The fully-carpeted and private conference room seats 40 guests.

Five luxury en-suite cottages have their own TVs, spacious lounges with fireplaces and private verandahs. Eight spacious deluxe rooms currently being built will also be en-suite, with TVs and private verandahs.

 

The Chiwale dam (indigenous Malawian palm tree) is 270 meters long by 220 meters wide, it is nearing completion and will be open for fishing and recreational activities in April 2012. The dam will be stocked with two species of tilapia (bream) and trout. There will be a variety of sailing and boating activities with picnic areas located around the Chiwale dam (Food and beverage purchases will be available from the main lodge).

 

MCC (Mbawa Country Club), is scheduled to open in April 2012, it features a 9-hole golf course, club house and driving range designed by Machovich and Hayes renowned golf course designers and construction experts from South Africa. Membership fees and rates will be available in the early new year.
