Mkulumadzi lodge receive some amazing feedback from their guests in this blog from Robin Pope Safaris. They have shared their experiences at Mkulumadzi in the Tripadvisor reviews below. Written by Claire Birtwhistle.

It is always rewarding to get a pat on the back. Everybody likes to have their efforts appreciated and Mkulumadzi Lodge is no different! The staff work diligently to ensure that their guests are happy and well looked after at all times. That is why it is so great to hear this lovely feedback from guests who absolutely loved Mkulumadzi and the people who made their experience possible.

Thom recently travelled to the lodge from California and had this to say about his stay:

“Bridget & Heath treat every guest to a warm reception and look after every need while you're there. Majete is an up and coming destination with a growing game population and Mkulumadzi is the ideal spot to start your safari. Our expansive room had awesome views of the river and was equipped with a bed air conditioner within the mosquito netting which made sleeping extremely comfortable in the hot weather with no noise or other intrusion. The guides are great, Liwonde & Mike (Ranger) showed us everything the park could offer along with answering questions about animals, birds, bugs and all of the flora. The food, service and presentation are awesome, with the celebration dinner for our 100th game drive served in an oil lamp lit service by the pool. Every need is anticipated and met with cheerful, courteous service. If you're lucky, you may get to meet Buzz, a beautiful Bush Baby who was rescued and released back to the wild. She comes into the lodge on occasion for a peanut butter and jam treat and will win your heart on sight.

Robin Pope consistently created great experiences for us in all of their camps and lodges.”

Jackie from Surrey also stayed with us recently, however, being accustomed to wild animals; it was the birds she was focused on!

“We arrived at Mkulumadzi lodge after a long journey and we were greeted so warmly by the lovely Guy and his staff - cool wet hand towels and fruit juice. Before that the first thing to we had to cope with was the long, long but very safe rope bridge (cable suspension) over to the lodge - which we loved the excitement of it. It was a very new experience to traverse this - even though in the dry season (as we were) it was not a threat at all.

We were travelling as two couples, and the rooms were fantastic - huge, with fantastic views over the plains. We did our first safari drive 15 minutes later, with copious amounts of Malawi gin and tonic on board.

Malawi has the "big five" and we did see a lion, elephants etc., but having worked out there before, the birds do it for us! There are the most beautiful birds - tiny tiny little ones and, of course the fish eagles, which are our favourites.

OSMAN, our guide was fantastic - we did bush walking safaris, and driving safaris. OSMAN was so knowledgeable as were his two guides.

The rooms were spacious and luxurious and the food was absolutely gourmet. Not massive amounts, which was great, and good for us, but delightful. Eat as much as you like for breakfast, and rest between safari drives during the day at the lovely pool. Please, please - if you want somewhere special to go, then do this one!”
