Nkwichi Lodge had some delightful news from their latest newsletter. As well as a tasty looking new menu, they’ve also been ranked at No. 1 in Harpers Bazar's list of the 10 most romantic hotels in the world!


According to Harpers Bazaar magazine Nkwichi lodge is one of the most romantic hotels in the world.And with the new Star Bed at Nkwichi not many people could dispute that fact!


Nkwichi also introduced a wonderful new menu to delight guests' palates. The new menu comprises a balance of West African cuisine with a European influence.

A Lake of Stars and Funky Cichlid Update from Malawian Style

Fire Training, Surveys and Wildlife Sightings in Majete

With the cooler, winter temperatures around the Majete Wildlife Reserve animal sightings have still been plentiful. This means a lot of the big wildlife of Majete have been photographed for the latest African Parks Majete Newsletter. On top of that, Staff at the reserve have been training against fire outbreaks and a survey of all the reptiles and amphibians in the area has begun.

Two male leopards were caught on the Majete Researchers camera traps down in the South of the Reserve on the Pende /Masakala Road. All fourteen rhino were sighted during the quarter with 155 rhino tracking patrols taking place and The lions were seen on a weekly basis near Thawale Lodge, the airstrip and at Mvuu Spot and in various parts of the tourism area.

Exploring Lake Malawi by Bicycle at Pumulani

Pumulani, being the African island-style paradise that it is, is best known for providing unforgettable Malawi lakeshore experiences. However recently there has been a large gain in popularity for mountain biking.


Winter is the perfect season for mountain biking in Malawi as the climate is dry and cool, but the really appealing thing about mountain biking at Pumulani is that it can be combined with kayaking. Guests are guided through woodland and village areas and finish the ride on the lake shore across the bay from Pumulani. Kayaks are waiting there so cyclists can paddle their way back across the Kasankha Bay.

 Danforth Yachting undergo Website Updates and Remodelling

Danforth Yachting have updated their website, making it brighter, more eye catching and suitably adaptable to viewing on mobile phones and tablets.  They will be regularly updating the website with local news, photographs, guests comments and tripadvisor reviews.


Danforth will also be re-doing their thatched bar and watersports area in November during the quieter season.  The team from Liwonde are skilled thatchers and they'll be there for a week to re-do the structure. Danforth look forward to sharing new photos of this at the end of the year, ready for the December holidays.
