Palm Valley Executive Lodge set to double number of rooms this year
Palm Valley Executive Lodge is one of Malawi’s newest lodges, and at the moment is going from strength to strength. The accommodation was once planned to be the owner’s house – but when they realised their grand designs were just a little too big for just them, they decided to open it up to tourists! Now in full swing, with half of December fully booked and a special offer on, their expansion project is fully underway. It will see the sight double in size, adding an additional 7 rooms – whilst still preserving the beautifully kept gardens and stunning views. This expansion work we’d first announced to be completed at some point in 2014 – but it now looks as though the new en-suite rooms will be up and running by the end of March!

’tis the Season of Giving

There’s no hiding that Malawi is one of the poorest countries in Africa, but at the same time it’s becoming a more and more  popular country for tourism. With commercial growth comes responsibility. All of the tourism companies in Malawi regularly give back, and projects don’t just pop up when tourists arrive, and then disapear – that simply wouldn’t benefit anyone. Helping the community in many cases is integral to how these companies operate. A number of companies in recent months have been doing just a little extra to give back. Here are a few of them.
