Malawi does not have many large towns, with the vast majority of it's people living in rural villages. The largest are the current regional capitals and the old national capital. Lilongwe is the capital of Central Malawi, as well as of the country itself. Blantyre/Limbe is actually Malawi's largest conurbation and is capital of the most heavily populated region - South Malawi, as well as being the country's main commercial centre. South Malawi also has Zomba, the old colonnial capital which is home to Malawi's main University campus. Finally, Mzuzu is capital of North Malawi, and is growing and developing very rapidly at present.
