The Satemwa Tea Estate lies on the slopes of Thyolo Mountain, with views of rolling tea gardens and the Mulanje Mountain in the distance. There are wonderful walks to be taken - either through the tea gardens or up into the remaining rain forest of Thyolo - a haven for birdwatchers and home of the rare Alethe Choloensis, White-winged Apalis and Greenheaded Oriole.

Tours of the tea estate can be arranged on request. When in season, bass fishing can be arranged at the Swan Lake dam below the factory. Golf, tennis, squash and bowls can be arranged at the Country Club adjacent to the estate. One can also visit the picnic spot up the mountain where there are braai facilities and glorious sunsets.

Accommodation is in a choice of colonial bungalows set in charming gardens, once the homes of the original estate owners. Fully furnished and fully equipped, each has a chef/houseman in attendance to do any cooking and cleaning. There is an airfield facility on the estate for those who would like to fly in.
