ottage is a self-catering cottage in Nkhata Bay just a couple of metres from Lake Malawi. There are 3 bedrooms, dining room, sitting room and a kitchen for self catering. The verandah has a wonderful view over the lake.
The cottage is located in the second bay in the town, which is less populated than the other one, overlooking the mouth of the Nkhata River, the whole bay and the lake. This is an excellent spot for bird-watching; just take a pair of binoculars and place yourself in a deck-chair on the verandah…

The centre of Nkhata bay is small and home to not more than 2000 people. But there are many villages nearby that make Nkhata Bay the infrastructural centre of up to 20,000 people. Tourism and fishing are the main industries of the town. Nkhata Bay is a lively place, especially on Sundays and Mondays, when people from the islands and remote villages along the lake shore come into town to sell their weekly catch.
Safari Cottage is run by Budget Safari, who offer Malawi and Zambia tours (primarily camping) as set itineraries and on a tailor made basis.
