Nkhata Bay

Aqua-Africa offers internationally recognised SCUBA diving courses with both PADI and NAUI from beginner to Divemaster.  We have been teaching for 10 years in Nkhata Bay and now also operate at Cape Maclear in association with Danforth Yachting.

Our beginner courses at start on Mondays and Thursdays and run for 5 days.  This includes at least 2 pool sessions and 6 dives.  We pride ourselves on our high safety and teaching standards. The first 2 days are usually a mixture of theory and practice sessions in the shallows of the lake and a swim test of 200m will be on one of these days. The third, fourth and fifth days have two dives a day and more theory between, with an exam on the last day.  Usually there is a party on the last night. The days start at about 8-30am each day with an hour or hour and a half lunch. The days usually finish at about 5-30pm.

The advanced courses start on Sundays, and run for 3 days.  This includes 6 dives in a variety of conditions and gives the diver a chance to try out Night, Deep, and Search and Recovery dives plus other advanced diving skills. If booked in advance we can adjust starting days to suit.

We offer twin rooms at Nkhata Bay. These rooms are en-suite with hot showers and offer the best views of the bay in town.  The rooms are next door to the school sharing our private and secure beach. Accommodation at Cape Maclear by arrangement.

For those who are already qualified to SCUBA dive, we offer pleasure dives most days. Snorkeling equipment, windsurfers and kayaks are also available for hire.
